Installation
Wood Floor Surbiton offers an exceptional installation service. Every aspect is carefully detailed and surveyed to ensure all NWFA guidelines and PHMA regulations are followed to give our customers an exceptional installation service, with clear and concise communication throughout your order with us. If chosen our 5 year warranty for installation will be valid, subject to our standard terms and conditions.
We find the most important and often overlooked part of the installation is the sub-floor. At Wood Floor Surbiton when we are selected for your full installation we are responsible not only for the wood floor but that the sub-floor complies with all recommended and acceptable tolerances. Our surveyor obtains the hydro and relative moisture levels, so we can be assured that our installation will be successful.
We are only able to advise on our own installations and products.
Installation Method
We take careful consideration when deciding which method of installation offers the best results for each individual project. Floating, Secret Nailing, Fully Bonded and Design are the major methods often chosen. We assess each project whilst undertaking a Site Survey to ensure that all the necessary data is recorded, within our parameters and requirements. Different methods are used to combat different sub-floor requirements, and with the necessary preparation your wood floor can be installed.
Seasonal Changes
Variations in appearance are completely normal for wood floors. As your floor ages, some colour change can occur. This is normal but can be minimized by limiting exposure to direct sunlight and periodically moving furniture and rugs.
Wood flooring is a natural material and changes a little in connection with humidity, this is natural and normal. During high humidity periods it picks up more moisture and expands its volume. During low humidity periods it reduces its moisture content and may shrink a little, so that very thin joints may appear, generally anything less than the thickness of a five pence piece is considered normal, and will correct itself as seasons change. You can exercise influence on this relationship by suitable heating, ventilation, plants, humidifiers or air conditioner. With this you will get the best possible room climate for your wood floor.
